About
For this project, I was exploring textures that have structural elements or multiple layers to them. The ideas were taken from architecture, nature, various unique shapes and art object, that caught my eye, as well as from works of graphical artists and textile designers, which were later applied to fashion design. The thinking process involved both - macro and micro scales; such as, architectural landmarks for the macroscopic scale and DNA cell structures on a microscopic scale. The key words driving this project were exploration and experimentation. Experimentation was primarily conducted with fabric, through the use of different techniques of restructuring flat material into a 3-dimensional form.

Print Design
As an additional element to this project, we were asked to create a print design based on the final garment and the overall research. The print design illustrated on this page has a straight forward visual link to the garment itself, however, through the use of sharp, bold vectorized lines, the soft organic nature of the garment was transformed into something far more aggressive and graphical.
